Early Learning Coalition
Ensuring Successful Futures for our Greatest Resource
The Early Learning Coalition (ELC) of Brevard County is responsible for providing oversight of impactful programs that assist local families with achieving economic self-sufficiency as well as preparing children for success in school by providing developmentally-appropriate educational experiences. These programs include:
School Readiness Subsidized Child Care
This program provides assistance to eligible families to allow children access to affordable, high quality early education experiences. Approximately 3,200 local children receive the benefits of participating in the program each month; another 512 children are on the waiting list for services.
VPK is a constitutionally-mandated program that provides each qualifying child residing in Florida with free pre-kindergarten education to prepare them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language and social skills. Over 4,500 4-year-olds are enrolled in VPK programs in Brevard during the current school year.
Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R)
Offers a wealth of free information related to choosing a quality child care provider, finding affordable health care for children, and much more. CCR&R serves as the single point of entry for the Coalition to provide resources to all local families.
Child Care Executive Partnership Program (CCEP)
CCEP is an innovative program based on a successful public/private partnership model that assists employers with meeting the needs of working parents. Participating employers contribute funds, which are matched with federal and state funding on a dollar-for-dollar basis, to provide child care services for eligible families.
