When you meet Captain Frank “Wes” Naylor III for the first time, you may be misled by his approachability and friendliness. He is warm, genuine and easy to talk to. But as you learn more about the man, it is clear you are in the presence of a true leader.

A Winter Park resident for five years, Captain Naylor has contributed to his country and his community as a leader in the worlds of government, industry, and academia.

His twenty-eight year career with the United States Navy includes multiple commands as a Naval Officer and Aviator. His transformative vision in the fields of Intelligent Tutoring, Virtual and Augmented Reality, and the use of gaming strategies for training were the foundation of the Navy’s next generation training initiative.  As a trusted advisor, his expertise in these areas has been sought out by industry and academic leaders to include the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

For many, these accomplishments would be the subject matter of a well-deserved retirement celebration, but for Captain Naylor, this experience has simply laid the foundation for his next chapter.

Since retiring from the Navy (feel free to call him Wes now), Wes has set his sights on launching a business of his own and now serves as President and Managing Partner of the Coe & Naylor Group, a full-service business consulting firm that specializes in the training sector.  Their mission is to bring industry, government, and academia together to provide the best results for our warfighters and our nation.

Wes also lends his experience to the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business where he seeks to continue to help the school assert itself as a world leader in providing excellence for its students, as well as its partners in the business community.  He believes one of his greatest strengths is being able to help teams find non-traditional solutions to tough problems.  He enjoys being able to work with people who have curious minds – like him!

He describes himself as a “life-long learner who loves the opportunity to lead high-performance teams in tough situations and who enjoys taking on challenges with people who like to challenge their perceived limits.” He earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Government with High Honors from George Mason University, a Masters of Science (MS) in Strategic Studies from the National War College, and is currently a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Candidate at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.

Wes’ greatest inspiration in both business and his life is his family.  They inspire him every day and fuel his steadfast belief that every individual has an important obligation to do their part to help build a better world for those who follow them.
