Ortega-Cowan focuses his practice on dispute resolution with an emphasis on complex commercial, construction, probate, trust, and estate litigation. He leverages his broad experience across federal, state, and international courts to secure favorable results for his clients. A member of the Florida Bar since 2003, Ortega-Cowan is also admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court, the US Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the US District Courts for the Southern, Middle and Northern Districts of Florida and is a member of the Brevard County Bar Association.

Ortega-Cowan was born in Brevard County and has spent most of his life in the region. He graduated from St. Edward’s preparatory school, prior to attending Boston College and receiving his Juris Doctorate cum laude from the Florida State University College of Law. During law school, he served as editor-in-chief of Law Review and interned with US District Judge John Antoon, II in the Middle District of Florida.

After living and working in New York City, Los Angeles and Miami, Ortega-Cowan has returned home so his young family may benefit from the combination of lifestyle, educational and arts community advantages the region has to offer. In selecting a law firm from which to base his practice, he was particularly impressed with Rossway Swan’s unique and talented group of highly focused attorneys and their comprehensive approach to client service.
