John Newton

Title:  President

Company:  Newton Land Development,
Newton Real Estate Group, LLC

Founded:  2004

location:  Melbourne, FL

John Newton is the president of both Newton Land Development, Inc. and Newton Real Estate Group, LLC. Over the past 23 years, he has developed close to 2 million square feet of office, medical office, manufacturing and industrial space along Florida’s east coast. He began as a partner with CIA Developers and then on his own for the past 12 years. Before launching into real estate, Newton was a commercial banker serving as area president in the Kissimmee/South Orlando area.

Newton’s recent development projects include Spyglass Plaza, Nasa Palms Professional Center and the San Marino Estates subdivision in Suntree. In addition, he has managed several build-to-suit facilities including two 14,000-sq.-ft. daycare facilities and a new 16,000-sq.-ft. multi-tenant medical/professional building next to the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera.

Most people do not realize that one of Newton’s specialties is working with clients who want to build and own their own building. As project manager, through Newton Land Development, he is engaged by an owner to spearhead the project. Given the fact that most owners have never been involved in such a long, complicated process, Newton and his associate, Brenda Corliss, provide the knowledge to make things go smoothly “from concept to keys,” allowing his clients to continue focusing on what they do best.

Newton, also a certified financial planner, attended the University of Florida where he studied finance and chemistry and later earned his MBA. He serves on the advisory board at Florida Institute of Technology’s College of Building Construction and is active with the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast. His philosophy is, “Anything is possible, but only with a great team in place being managed by someone with the right experience.”
