For Adonis Davis, senior outside linebacker at Florida Tech, coming to the Space Coast has been one of the best things to ever happen to him. Coming from Columbus, Ohio, he acclimated quickly to the Central Florida region and has enjoyed his time at Florida Tech. “A lot of players get homesick and end up back home, but I knew once I got here there wasn’t going to be any turning around for me,” he said. “When I first came to Melbourne, I stayed beachside, and waking up to the sunrise I just knew this was the place for me to be.”
Davis’s grandfather, James Ende, inspired him to become a great man, do right for the family and sacrifice everything for them. Although he was coming to Florida Tech to play football, he knew earning a business degree would set him up for the long run. For Davis, being able to pick the brains of professors who have been out in the business world has been both beneficial and an honor. His focus has been getting a top-notch degree, playing some amazing football in a heavy hitter conference within the GSC and making those at home proud of him.
“I’m set to graduate this December, and after I receive my degree I plan to train for a potential shot at the National Football League,” he said. “Being a professional athlete has always been a dream of mine, but as of now my only focus is becoming a champion with my teammates, who I’ve built some unbreakable bonds with.”
