Anne Conroy-Baiter joined Junior Achievement (JA) of the Space Coast in July 2014 as its new president. With more than 20 years of experience in non-profit management, entrepreneurship, and marketing, her most recent prior position was as executive director of an arts organization in New York state for eight years. Moving to Brevard to be closer to family, Conroy-Baiter’s core of management experience and community improvement lends itself to forming new partnerships and collaborations within the Brevard community, while building programming reach in all corners of the county.
“Junior Achievement’s mission is one that I immediately loved. We focus on enabling young people to be successful in the global economy through JA’s work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy programs delivered via volunteers and provided free to schools. As a parent to three daughters, teaching kids the tools to survive and even thrive in future economic downturns just makes sense to me. It can only lead to a brighter future for Brevard and beyond.”
Conroy-Baiter has already made a difference within the Junior Achievement organization. Classroom requests were up by 65 percent in Fall 2015 with significant numbers in Title I schools, the board of directors is strategically engaged and steadily growing, and new strategic partnerships with Parrish Medical, United Way, Harris Corporation, and others are leading to leveraged growth.
“Anne has been a great addition to the JA family in Brevard County,” says Brent Peoples, chairman of the board of JA of the Space Coast. “She is helping to take JA to the next level in our efforts to impact the 70,000-plus students in Brevard. She’s outstanding and is accomplishing fantastic things for our children.”
Conroy-Baiter has a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University in Boston, is a member of the LEAD Brevard Class of 2016, and was recently inducted into the League of Extraordinary Women. She’s also an artist specializing in watercolors and gouache. She and her daughters live in Cocoa Beach, where they are grateful for warm winters, beaches, and the natural beauty of Brevard County.
