ROCKLEDGE, Fla. (November 29, 2016) – Health First is pleased to announce that Dr. Lee Scheinbart has been selected as Vice President of Medical Affairs for its Community Hospitals (Health First’s Cape Canaveral Hospital, Health First’s Palm Bay Hospital and Health First’s Viera Hospital), effective January 9, 2017.

Dr. Scheinbart, a board-certified physician primarily specializing in Medical Oncology, has practiced exclusively in Brevard County for the past 18 years.  Presently, Dr. Scheinbart serves as the Medical Director of the Health First Cancer Institute.

dr-leescheinbartIn his new role, Dr. Scheinbart will collaborate with physicians and providers at Health First’s three Community Hospitals on matters of quality, communication, peer review and medical staff leadership development.  He will also engage with the medical staff on the mission of Health First as it relates to the development of its Integrated Delivery Network (IDN).

During his career, he has also served as Medical Director of Hospice of Health First, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of Hospice of Health First.  Additionally, he was both the physician champion and one of the founding benefactors for the William C. Childs Hospice House.  A member of the Health First Foundation’s Good Samaritan Society, Dr. Scheinbart continues to have an active role in the philanthropic efforts of the Health First Foundation.

Dr. Scheinbart earned his medical degree at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and served his internship, residency and fellowship at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.  He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hospice and Palliative Care.
