A second-generation financier, Leasha Flammio-Watson, CFP® says she was “born into” the industry. She officially joined her father at the former AG Edwards & Sons in 1995, and has since been serving her clients with goal-based management of their finances and wealth.
In March, Flammio-Watson joined the Ameriprise Financial team, opening Flammio Financial Group in Viera — a move she made to better serve her clients and their goals.
The path of Flammio-Watson’s career almost mirrors that of Ameriprise. Both began solely focused on financial planning and investments then became integrated with large corporations in which financial advising services were only an extension of an entire system, only to feel the need to return back to their roots. “It feels like I’ve come back home,” said Flammio-Watson with regard to the personal touch offered by Ameriprise Financial, a Minnesota-based company. “I am in an environment where I can focus on what’s best for my clients. Period.”
And having the right “tools,” she says, is essential. “The problem with some financial firms is they don’t use the right tools. It’s like trying to hang a picture with a sledgehammer. So, when you’re trying to build a financial house, you have to use the right tools in the right way.”
