Amanda Kahn has had a strong softball career at Florida Tech, assisting the team in major victories along the way. In Kahn’s freshman year, she appeared in nine games, made four starts in the circle and pitched a complete game shutout vs. St. Thomas Aquinas, allowing five hits and striking out two. In her sophomore campaign, Kahn appeared in 21 games, making 12 starts and registered a 7-3 record with 22 strikeouts. Kahn has also performed well in the classroom, as she was selected to FIT Athletic Director’s Honor Roll and Spring Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll in her junior year.
Kahn’s teammates and coaches at Florida Tech inspire her to be the best person and athlete she can possibly be. Kahn is thankful for the unique environment Florida Tech has provided, both on the field and in the classroom. So far, her favorite memory while being a Florida Tech athlete is going to the southern section super-regional for the first time in program history. Kahn is inspired by her teammates at Florida Tech because of the way they conquer adversity and have a great attitude while doing it. “They inspire me in both my athletic and academic endeavors,” she said.
Kahn’s goal is to attend medical school in the next few years and become a physician. “I’m thankful and owe a lot of my academic and athletic successes to my parents,” she said, “who have always supported me and given me the freedom to do what I love in every aspect of life.”
