Grace Han

Throughout her childhood, Grace Han dreamed of becoming a doctor or lawyer to help people in their need; however, after attending a hospitality school in China, she dreamed of owning her own restaurant one day. “The art of hospitality delivers happiness,” she says. Today, Grace and her husband, Jimmy, own Red Ginger Chinese Cuisine and Lounge in Suntree and Melbourne.

Grace moved from China to the United States in 1995. Despite the language barrier and starting with very little, she overcame and in 2000, she and her husband, Jimmie, moved to Brevard County to take over a small Chinese takeout restaurant. The experience gained from this takeout restaurant laid the foundation for her journey to Red Ginger.

By 2004, she owned and managed two restaurants. Grace sold her first location by the time her son was born in 2004, and in 2008, renamed her second resturant, Lucky Garden II, in Suntree to Red Ginger.

“I achieved my dream of opening a restaurant, but now I want to create a chain,” she says. This past year, Grace opened Red Ginger’s second location at the Melbourne Square Mall. Red Ginger is one of the few upscale Chinese restaurants in the area and offers elegance in the dining room and on the plate.
