As a real estate developer for 23 years, Jacqui McPhillips and her brother embarked on a new adventure and purchased the oceanfront Tuckaway Shores Resort in Indialantic in 2006 for a condo-hotel conversion. Shortly thereafter, she assumed the management of the resort and began her role as innkeeper.
“I’ve learned to be an innkeeper through trial and error and following the golden rule. Tuckaway is one of the best examples of what Florida used to look like before all the high rise hotels became the norm.”
In 2013, Jacqui was asked to serve on both the board and marketing committee for the Florida Superior Small Lodging Association, an organization comprised of authentic Florida style lodging located along Florida’s coastline.
“My mission is to introduce others to the wonderful world of “old” Florida style properties. We all need to slow down a bit and take time to enjoy our surroundings. Our authentic style properties offer all the right ingredients for creating nostalgic memories.”
