What happens when vision links to a steadfast plan and an unwavering commitment? An enduring movement of enTREPreneurialism sweeping the Sunshine State.

On Saturday, February 10, 2018, GrowFL, in association with Edward Lowe Foundation, will hosts its seventh annual Florida Companies to Watch awards program at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa, Florida. This elite event celebrates, elevates and honors 50 second-stage companies expected to experience significant growth in coming years. These companies, defined as 10 to 99 employees and $1 million to $50 million in revenue, demonstrate high performance in the marketplace with innovative strategies and processes, making each worthy of watching. Seven of this year’s honorees call the Space Coast home – Boys Electrical Contractors, Grimaldi Candy Company, Jaycon Systems, LLC, K. Parks Consulting, Inc., Society+, Sorenson Moving & Storage, and Up-Rev, Inc.

Jeff Piersall, a proven leader and national speaker, positively affecting thousands of people throughout his career, will emcee the most significant event in the state celebrating the Top 50 Florida Companies to Watch. As founder and CEO of SCB Marketing and author of Dogs Dont Bark at Parked Cars, Piersall inspires, motivates and connects entrepreneurs, business leaders and communities through four business journals, numerous specialty publications, marketing services and speaking engagements. Piersall possesses the unique ability to bridge current circumstances with future foresights.

“We are a community of entrepreneurs and business leaders,” Piersall said. “Through collaboration, we create partnerships, which leads to developing trust and drives economic growth throughout the state.”

Many programs and incubators promote start-up businesses. GrowFL is the only Florida economic development organization focusing exclusively on cultivating second-stage growth companies across the state and supporting this highly critical, productive business segment. These companies annually create the most jobs in Florida; yet, continue to receive no state funding for support. Seven years running, the GrowFL program has recognized over 350 companies throughout Florida through its exemplary awards program.

“Innovative business owners are the backbone of economic development in regions across the state of Florida,” said Dr. Tom O’Neal, executive director of the Florida Economic Gardening Institute and vice president of the University of Central Florida’s Office of Research and Commercialization. “GrowFL has done a great job of celebrating these entrepreneurs and providing the tools needed to successfully navigate growth, get to the next level and benefit entire communities.”
