Karen Hufford is a Brevard County native, having been raised in Palm Bay. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida, as well as a master’s degree in publishing from New York University. She is also a graduate of LEAD Brevard’s Class of 2012. Prior to her current position, Karen worked as a magazine editor at SCB Marketing and FLORIDA TODAY.
LifeStyle Homes is a family company. Hufford’s father, Larry Hufford, co-founded the building business 30 years ago, along with the late John Luhn. John’s son, Jordan Luhn, now serves as LifeStyle’s CEO.

LifeStyle Homes works closely with the building scientists at the Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) to assure their homes stay on the cutting edge of energy-efficient design and technologies.
In August 2010, the company was proud to have built the first solar-powered zero-energy home on Florida’s East Coast (Capron Ridge, Rockledge). LifeStyle has since built nearly 30 more solar-powered homes that produce as much energy as they consume, thus allowing their owners to enjoy free electricity for life.
In her current role, Hufford is responsible for all marketing, digital, and public relations efforts at LifeStyle Homes. She is thrilled to be a part of her family’s business and is looking forward to helping carry the company forward for the next 30 years.
