The official LOIS PRE-Launch Party is scheduled for April 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Kiwi Tennis Club. This event aims to equip all Florida Children’s Home Society caseworkers with a 12-month subscription of the LOIS system.
LOIS is a personal safety system designed to protect people meeting with unfamiliar people or meeting others in unfamiliar places.
The first 70 donations made at the fundraiser will go toward the Space Coast’s Children’s Home Society caseworkers.
Any additional donations raised will serve to equip the more than 1000 caseworkers who enter high-risk environments statewide. The LOIS safety system was developed by entrepreneur and real estate broker, Avery Piantedosi. In 2013, she experienced a life-threatening situation while showing a property to a new client. The event motivated her to develop a solution for all professionals who enter daily high-risk environments.
Avery says the market for this system includes all men and women in the dating scene, social workers, real estate brokers, journalists, children and adults.
Users customize their own personal safety network. Should the user fail to respond to a predefined check-in on their calendar, the system will alert the check-in network immediately — even customize the app to alert 9/11. Users have the option of automating geographic check-ins between coworkers, family members, and friends.
