With a degree in architecture and physics from the University of Florida, Marcia Gaedcke brings a unique perspective to her position as president of the Titusville Area Chamber of Commerce.

“I pursued architecture because there were rules and guidelines, but the challenge was always to use those materials and constraints to create a unique space and experience,” Gaedcke explained.  “With physics, there’s a logical outcome based on the original inputs. It appealed to my practical, rational nature.”

It is exactly this ability to “blend creativity and structure” that eventually drew her to event management and community involvement, a path that led her to her current post. While she began at the chamber as events coordinator/tourism manager, she stepped in as president in what was supposed to be a temporary change when her predecessor announced his departure. She quickly realized it was the right fit, submitted her resume and was officially chosen for the role.

In July she will celebrate her 20th anniversary at the chamber. “I love this community, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of the positive change that’s happening,” she said.

With a drive and talent for community involvement, she has also served as Board Secretary for the Titusville Playhouse, as well as on various EDC committees. She was recently recognized as one of weVENTURE’s “Women Who Rock” in the Excellence in Leadership category.
