The origins of the Nance Cacciatore law firm began  in 1963 when James “Booty” Nance started the firm in Melbourne, Florida. Three short years later, Sammy Cacciatore joined Nance.  For nearly fifty years Nance Cacciatore has been representing individuals who have been injured in everything from train wrecks to aviation disasters. Their practice focuses on helping people in Brevard County who have suffered a serious injury or are grieving over the loss of a loved one because of the negligence or misconduct of another person or company. The law firm of Nance Cacciatore is also known for handling several cases that changed Florida law, including cases cited as precedent in other states.

The Law Firm is now two generations strong and has over 150 years of collective legal experience. Even though less than three percent of attorneys in Florida are Board Certified, all six partners of Nance Cacciatore are Board Certified Civil Trial Advocates by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and/or Board Certified by the Florida Bar. In 1981, Jim Nance, was elected President of the Inner Circle of Advocates, an organization of the top 100 trial lawyers in America. In 1997 the firm was chosen by the governor as one of nine firms to represent the State of Florida against the tobacco industry in a case that resulted in a landmark settlement of $11.3 billion for the people of the state.

Jim Nance, Sammy Cacciatore and Jack Hamilton have all been selected to The National Trial Lawyers – Top 100, which is comprised of the top 100 trial lawyers in each state.

Additionally, all six partners are listed in Florida Superlawyers, a peer-reviewed publication that includes only the top 5{099636d13cf70efd8d812c6f6a5a855fb6f8f27f35bea282d2df1d5ae896e2c2} of Florida attorneys. The firm is also recognized as the only “Tier One” (highest rating) law firm in Brevard County by US News & World Report, and the publication Law Dragon has acknowledged Sammy Cacciatore as one of the top 500 attorneys in the United States.

For nearly 50 years they have continued to support the local community through donating their time and resources to local charities and community organizations.
