Both Billie Jo Hopwood and Tiffani Bishop of Platt Hopwood Attorneys at Law PLLC offer aggressive, passionate, successful representation, and specialize in the field of Family Law. They share with the rest of their team at Platt Hopwood extensive knowledge of Florida Law and case histories that afford them a competitive advantage in legal contests, coming to litigation prepared and fully armed to achieve their client’s objectives.
Billie Jo Hopwood grew up and still resides in Melbourne, having gone to Johnson Middle and Eau Gallie High School. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s in legal studies and began her 17-year career as a paralegal. Beginning as a paralegal gave Hopwood the opportunity to gain a broad range of experience in various areas of law including criminal, family and personal injury. She earned her J.D. and practiced as an attorney in all three areas, deciding that family law suited her best. She joined Platt Hopwood in 2011, and continues to excel due to her passion for law and compassion for her clients to have the best possible result in their trials, hearings and settlements. She understands that all decisions affect her client, their life and family, and her success and years of legal experience allow her the ability to give them the best legal advice available.
Joining the Platt Hopwood family recently is Tiffani Bishop, and at just 27 years old she is the youngest attorney in the firm. Bishop’s passion and dedication to law is unmatched compared to other young attorneys and is apparent when in the courtroom, fighting for the best outcome for her client and determined to make sure justice is served.
A native of Brevard, she knew she wanted to practice law from a young age. She was a celebrated player on her softball team during her undergraduate career at local Florida Institute of Technology and enjoys giving back to her hometown by taking on pro bono cases that are assigned by legal aid. She was named the Young Pro Bono Attorney of the Year in 2013.
Hopwood and Bishop both participate in the Vassar B. Carlton American Inn of Court. The Inn of Court is designed to promote legal excellence, civility, professionalism and ethics in the legal arena. The Inn members meet on a monthly basis and participate in various programs that focus on the practical and ethical aspects of practicing law.
