WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE FOR YOU?
Well, there is no typical day. I may have a board meeting or some other commitment during the day, but when I don’t, I’m in the office at 8, and it’s emails, phone calls, check with my production staff on current projects and then look over my “To Do / What Needs to Get Done Now” list.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR JOB?
No day is the same. I’ve said it for the last 30 years and it’s still true today. I also work with some great people at Bright House and in the Brevard community.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE?
Time management. I have several responsibilities, which can mean several projects going at the same time. It’s essential they are completed in a timely manner.
WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU HAD MORE TIME FOR NOW?
I wish I had the time to assist every group and organization that contacts me. And…I wish I had more time for my golf game.
WHAT WOULD YOU TELL THE YOUNGER VERSION OF YOU TO DO DIFFERENTLY?
Make your presence known. Don’t fly under the radar. Also get involved in your community. I waited a while to do that.
WHAT IS ONE THING YOU’VE DREAMED OF DOING BUT HAVEN’T YET?
Visit England. I took a course in college on England and I have always wanted to visit there. I also played competitive darts for over 20 years, so it’s a natural thing to want to play there.
WHO DO YOU ADMIRE AND WHY?
My parents. The honesty and integrity they instilled in me has shaped my life and career. From the moment I went to work I have remembered things my dad told me about life responsibilities, work and work ethic.
