Market President, Florida Bank of Commerce

With over 25 years of commercial banking experience, Ralph Betancourt is a banking veteran. As the Orlando Market President of Florida Bank of Commerce, Betancourt is responsible for managing the bank’s Commercial Banking team. “We have a great team of experienced Commercial Bankers that cover the Central Florida market throughout our seven offices. All of our Bankers exemplify Florida Bank of Commerce’s culture of being true Bankers for our clients. We take the time to really know our clients, their business and understand their objectives. We then offer thoughtful solutions that best meet their needs. Our Bankers have a constant sense of urgency to resolve issues and respond quickly, which is what business owners want. We can deliver it with our local decision-making process.”

Upon graduating from the University of Florida with a finance degree in 1988, Betancourt joined Southeast Bank where he attended a formal eight-month commercial banking training program in Miami and then transferred to Orlando. In 1991, when his bank became First Union, Betancourt transferred to Brevard County where he lived and worked for the next six years. He transferred back to Orlando in 1997, where he has lived and worked ever since.

Betancourt joined Florida Bank of Commerce in 2012. “I made the decision that I wanted to join a solid community bank with my same commitment to client service, and when I met our CEO, Dana Kilborne, I knew this was a great match with shared vision and work ethic. The last two years have been exciting and I’m truly enjoying being part of this bank as we continuously strive to improve further.”

Betancourt currently serves on three non-profit boards including HOPE Helps, Follow One International and InCharge Institute of America.  He also serves as chairman of the Stewardship and Marketing Committees at First United Methodist Church of Oviedo.
