Modern Approach. Traditional Work Ethic.

Attorney Shane M. Smith is your local consumer and small business advocate. His passion is helping consumers and small businesses who are injured physically or financially by wrongdoers, insurance companies, corporations and banks. He also helps individuals or businesses deal with the IRS (Internal Revenue Service), the Florida Department of Revenue, or any other taxing authority.

The practice of law is changing. The electronic age is upon us and the firm embraces this. The attorneys at Shane M. Smith, P.A. are all “children of the electronic age” and using technology in the practice of law is second nature to them. Effective use of technology makes the practice of law more efficient. The firm is always evaluating how to use technology to improve firm operations. This approach allows the firm to do more for clients in less time and this creates value for clients.

Smith grew up in Northwest Iowa working on the family farm and working construction with his father. He attended college and law school at the University of South Dakota. After law school, he went on to earn a post-doctoral law degree in tax at the University of Florida’s Fredric G. Levin College of Law, home to one of the nation’s preeminent tax law programs.

In January 2014 he formed the law firm Shane M. Smith, P.A. after working at other litigation firms and an insurance defense firm. Shane M. Smith, P.A. was formed with the objective of giving consumers and small businesses easier access to the justice system through building a customer-service-oriented law firm.

Currently, the firm has three attorneys: Smith, Eric Samuel Heidel, and Matthew T. Manning, one legal assistant/office manager, April Dawn Gentile, and one paralegal, Kathy Roberts.
