Former corporate executive brings experience, passion and desire to take organization to the next level and provide more homes to Space Coast residents

MELBOURNE, Fla. –Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County has named Anna Terry to the position of executive director. The announcement came from board chairman Marcus Ingeldsen of MH Williams Construction Co.

“Anna’s corporate leadership style is exactly what we have been looking for,” Ingeldsen said. “She has the ability to lead our staff, excite our volunteers and motivate donors and supporters to be great and do great things. With her leadership, we plan to expand our outreach opportunities, which will help give back to the community in new and exciting ways.”

Terry has an extensive background in international retail as a buyer and product developer for brands that include Nordstrom, Guess, and White House Black Market (Chico’s FAS). For the past year, she had been managing ReStore, the organization’s thrift store.

Terry had planned to retire in Brevard County with her husband of 36 years, but the opportunity to help Brevard Habitat appeared and aligned with her expertise, values and passion. “My first experience with Habitat for Humanity was when I helped with a home build in Fort Myers where Chico’s was a sponsor. I remember the great feeling it gave me to know we were building a home for someone who needed it,” Terry said. “The Executive Director position feels like the perfect fit for my business acumen, along with my commitment to helping others, serving my community and making a difference.”

Terry’s immediate priorities include elevating the Habitat for Humanity brand in Brevard by showcasing the organization’s work in the community. She also wants to increase the number of donors and corporate sponsors, which in turn will allow more homes to be built for eligible families.

“I love that we are fulfilling families’ dreams of home ownership. We want people to have that sense of place and belonging,” Terry added. “When a family has ownership, they are invested in their neighborhoods and community, are providing a safe and healthy environment for their children and strengthening Brevard County as a whole.”
