That is how the dictionary defines “admire.” Dale Carnegie would add, “Instead of worrying about what people say of you, why not spend time trying to accomplish something they will admire?” Seneca, great Roman statesmen and philosopher said, “If thou art a man, admire those who attempt great things, even though they fail.”
What we admire in others is certainly what we hope and yearn to see in the mirror, and if we don’t, it is their example that spurs us towards those ideals. Certainly for each of us, admiration may be defined as differently as we would describe our taste in art or music.
