Suntree Country Club in Melbourne Florida has just signed a contract to bring the Cancun Sunbelt Senior Tour to Melbourne from February 20-23, 2012. The Tour is comprised of Past and Present PGA Tour, Champions Tour and Nationwide Tour Players. General Manager at Suntree Country Club, Steve Lamontagne who is also a 4 year veteran of the PGA Tour, was instrumental in bringing the event back to Melbourne and in particular Suntree Country Club.

Suntree CC was one of the first two events on the original Senior Tour back in the 1980’s so the history is rich for golf and the course promises to be one of the years best challenges for the tour pros. In addition to the professional championship there will be a Free Junior Clinic for any of the areas youth along with a cocktail party business mixer the night before the pro-am. There will be a silent auction, a time to meet and talk with the Tour Pros, and food and beverage as part of the festivities at Suntree Country Club.

The following day’s pro-am will be comprised of area golfers and businesses looking to get a once in a lifetime opportunity to play with some of the best senior golfers in the world. Men, women and juniors of ALL levels are welcome to participate as the main focus of the weeks events is not only the golf but the charity.

The KLD Youth Foundation of Brevard County will be the charity for the event. Founded by Kevin Deaton, a local boy that rose to stardom playing professional baseball, had a vision for helping the youth of Brevard County and started the foundation at the age of only 20 years old. Kevin’s amazing story and his vision that started this foundation can be found on line at www.kldyouthfoundation.org and we encourage you to read about the foundation and come out to play golf with some world class professional golfers and help a great cause in your own backyard.

According to tournament director Tom Eubank, ” We wanted to create a community event with a world class pro-am that golfers could afford. With most of the major tours costing $5,000 and up per person we felt that the Melbourne market would be great if we could offer playing spots and sponsorships at approximately 90{099636d13cf70efd8d812c6f6a5a855fb6f8f27f35bea282d2df1d5ae896e2c2} discount to those larger tours. With the participation of Suntree CC and other area sponsors we are able to make this so affordable that a company can not resist this opportunity”.

“Where else can you take your best clients and treat them to a two day function of first class food & beverage along with great golf and have a tour pro give you one on one attention and instruction?” according to Eubank. “Your clients will love you and your budget will really appreciate the value we offer”.
