After graduating from UCF with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Timothy Stockton was introduced to the world of “Safety-Critical” engineering. Five years later, he founded CERTON to provide “Safety-Critical” engineering services to the aerospace industry. CERTON now employs more than 60 talented people here in Brevard County and has expanded their business to include the medical and transportation industries as well.
As the President and CEO, Stockton’s focus is on developing tools and technology to complement CERTON’s services and the evolution of more complex embedded software and electronic hardware systems. “Safety-Critical” engineering is a unique niche where CERTON’s employees can relate their work to actual products that are used every day in people’s lives, such as aircraft, locomotives and medical devices. The intellectual property being developed by CERTON will streamline and standardize system modeling, simulation, validation, verification and integration of OEM products to revolutionize “Safety-Critical” engineering as we know it.
CERTON is also active in supporting Brevard County through a variety of initiatives, including volunteer projects, monetary donations, and events that benefit education, non-profit organizations and the local surfing community.
