What are the best things about living and working in Brevard?

The best things about Brevard are the people and the pace of living.  Many people move here to spend more time with family and friends.

What drew you to your profession?

I was in banking for 10 years and I couldn’t find an insurance agency that was concentrating on clients with higher net worth.  After seven years of searching I decided to start my own company to spend all of my time protecting these clients.  In addition, I grew up here in Brevard so I wanted to make sure that our services were available to all homeowners in our community.

What must companies and communities do to attract and retain young professionals?

I believe companies must sell the lifestyle that accompanies our community.  Not everyone who is young wants to work all day and party all night in a big city.  Many young people choose to start having children younger and we live in a great place for families to raise their children. With the cost of housing coming down we once again will become a far more attractive place for these families to plant their roots.

What is the hardest thing for “older” people to understand about your generation?

People are people and we come in all different shapes and sizes.  Older people have been around long enough to have the experience to see through what some people are trying to be.  Let’s face it, at 70 years old you know who you are and what you have accomplished.  Younger people just aren’t there, so they have many different ways find themselves.  I don’t always agree with the way they do it but in the end they are just trying to figure out who they are!
